Free Hearing Screenings

The UNM Speech-Language-Hearing Center is providing free hearing screenings for UNM Retiree Association members on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Reservations are required. Contact Sean Jackson at 505-277-4453 or vial email at SHS-Admin@unm.edu by Monday, April 13, 2026.

The hearing screenings will take about 15 minutes. You will complete a brief questionnaire, undergo visual inspection of the ear canal and ear drum, and receive a pure-tone hearing screening using headphones. The hearing screenings will be conducted by graduate students in UNM Master’s program in Speech-Language Pathology and supervised by audiologist
Dr. Sarah Duncan.

Results and recommendations will be discussed, and handouts regarding hearing health, over the counter and prescription hearing aids, and local audiologists and ear, nose, and throat doctors will be provided to all participants.
