Please join the UNM Retiree Association for a virtual presentation of New Mexico’s Landscapes, Water Resources and Soils in a Changing Climate presented by Leslie McFadden, Professor Emeritus, UNM Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.

The goal of this presentation is to provide an overview of the efforts of a panel of several scientists whose goal was to create a report that entailed an Assessment of Impacts of Climate on New Mexico Water Resources over the Next 50 Years. The panel was directed by Dr. Nelia Dunbar (Director- New Mexico Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources and State Geologist) and the panel co-chaired by Drs. David Gutzler and Fred Phillips.  The report, often referred to as the "50 Year “Leap Ahead” Climate Assessment", was recently published by the New Mexico Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources (Bulletin 164 — Climate Change in New Mexico Over the Next 50 Years: Impacts on Water Resources).
