Members of a 16th century expedition and its backers fully expected to reach China, a land of material wealth, within a matter of a few months traveling by land northwest of Mexico City. Their goal was an impossible one. Presented by Dr. Richard and Shirly Cushing Flint, research associates at the UNM Latin American and Iberian Institute, are the leading authorities on the Coronado Expedition, investigating primary documentary sources in Mexico and Spain and archaeological sites in the Southwest for more than 40 years.
